Do I need to book weeks in advance?
No. Unlike legacy NYC comedy clubs that require advance reservations, we hold week-of inventory specifically for last-minute planners. While popular shows do sell out, you can often find tickets the week of the show—sometimes even day-of.
That said, if you have a specific date in mind (especially weekends or special events), booking early ensures you get the seating you want. Our bi-weekly Wednesday shows at Yummy's and seasonal rooftop events at Scales tend to fill up faster.
Is there a drink minimum?
No. We don't enforce drink minimums. If you want to order a cocktail because it's delicious, great. If you'd rather just enjoy the show with water, that's fine too. Quality over quotas—we'd rather serve you one great drink than force you to hit a quota with mediocre ones.
Our bar program is built around craft cocktails, curated wines, and local beers. Everything is priced individually, and there's no pressure to order more than you want.
What is the drop-in policy?
Drop-ins are part of what makes Comedy on Nostrand Ave special. Big-name comics often stop by unannounced to work out new material or just hang with the community. We can't legally promise who will show up, but it happens regularly—and when it does, the energy in the room is electric.
Our homepage features a "Recent Drop-Ins" ticker so you can see who's been stopping by. Past guests have included Dave Chappelle, Michelle Wolf, Jerrod Carmichael, and Taylor Tomlinson. The listening-room vibe and post-show hang make this a natural spot for working comics to test material.
Important: Drop-ins are never guaranteed. Come for the announced lineup, and treat any surprise guests as a bonus.
Do ticket prices change?
Yes. We use dynamic pricing, which means ticket prices can fluctuate based on demand, lineup changes, and proximity to show date. This is standard practice in live entertainment and allows us to keep baseline prices accessible while adjusting for high-demand shows.
What this means for you: If you see a show you want to attend, booking early usually locks in a lower price. As the show date approaches and seats fill up, prices may increase. We're transparent about this because we don't want it to feel like a bait-and-switch—it's just how modern ticketing works.
Prices are always clearly displayed at checkout, and there are no hidden fees beyond standard ticketing platform charges.
Where are the venues located?
Yummy's (80 seats)
Our intimate bi-weekly Wednesday venue. Shows run 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM with happy hour starting at 7:00 PM. Perfect for a relaxed mid-week comedy night with restaurant-quality dining.
Scales (250 seats)
Our larger venue featuring VIP balconies and seasonal rooftop events. Typically hosts weekend shows and special performances. Full bar and expanded menu available.
Both venues are located in Brooklyn, NY. Exact addresses are provided with ticket confirmation.
What should I expect on show night?
- •Arrive early to grab a drink and settle in. Doors typically open 30 minutes before showtime.
- •Clear seating is assigned or first-come, first-served depending on the show. No standing in line for hours.
- •Listening room vibe means no talking during sets, no phones, and no heckling. Respect the craft.
- •Food and drinks can be ordered before and during the show. Full menu available.
